Here is what her nominator, CHADS SEW Mentor, Jennifer Lane said: "It is with great enthusiasm that I nominate Ms. Sara Pearson for the CHADS Lighthouse Award in recognition of her ongoing support of adolescent mental health through her commitment to Social and Emotional Well-being. Beyond her engaging curriculum, she consistently creates a safe, welcoming environment that encourages students to express themselves and seek support when needed. After completing a lesson on identifying trusted adults, I asked students to list someone they felt they could go to at school, and of the six who responded, four named Ms. Pearson—an incredible 66.7%. This speaks volumes about the trust she builds and the consistent support she provides her students. Students frequently refer to Ms. Pearson as one of their favorite teachers. In fact, several have asked me not to pull them from her class because they don't want to miss what she's teaching. This isn't just about popularity—it's about the authentic connections she fosters and the way she shows up for her students every day."
Thank you, Marian MS, and Ms. Pearson, for your partnership!
