The CHADS Lighthouse Award recognizes teachers, counselors, and schools that are dedicated to the education and awareness for mental health and suicide prevention. Individuals and schools are nominated by CHADS staff for demonstrating consistent and significant support of the CHADS mission through their participation in CHADS programming and efforts to provide and improve interventions for adolescents.

LIGHTHOUSE AWARD WINNERS

Oakville High School

January 2026 Recipient - Emilee Madlinger

Here is what her nominator, CHADS SEW Learning Coach, Dharma Merkle said about Emilee: “Not only is she quick to refer students for SEL services, but she leads from a place of empathy. I have seen her time and time again provide a safe space for students to share about their own struggles and stressors relating to school. Several times, Emilee Madlinger has connected me with students with low attendance or disciplinary situations to assist with SEL factors contributing to these situations. When these students are given the space to share that Madlinger provides, they have opened up about anxiety and stressors that impact their motivation/ability to attend school. Emilee Madlinger works to make sure students are heard and have the supports they need for a safe and successful school environment.”

Thank you, Emilee and Oakville High School , for your partnership!
